Belgian
combo, Soulwax, are currently halfway through a 13 date UK
tour. The two brothers from the band, David and Stephen, have
had to take a break from their other jobs as TV presenters
on a music show back home.
The
programme's huge in the Benelux countries, and the guys
told Radio 1 they've had a few memorable moments with some
big names: "Michael Stipe walked out on an interview because
we asked him what he thought of the singer from the band
Morphine, who had just died. We thought he already knew
because it had been on the news for two days."
The
lads explained that once he'd realised what had happened
he was OK: "Afterwards he came to us and said 'I'm sorry,
but it really shocked me'."
They've
also had the pleasure of meeting the Purple Prince - The
Artist: "Right before the interview he winked at someone,
and then a girl appeared with a huge can of hairspray. She
started spraying him for a whole minute! He just looked
at us and said, 'Do you want some?' That was funny," David
and Stephen told Radio 1.
