Trash versus Soul wax (sic)

Get the week off to a funked-up start with a visit to The End. Another alumnus of the now defunct Annexe, Trash's Monday night mash-ups are nothing short of legendary - how many promoters can regularly entice 600 funk-hungry Londoners across their threshold so soon after the weekend?

Their recent move to The End has proved a successful one - more room to dance and a luscious lounge area for R-Money to impart his schizophrenic, underground sounds upon work-weary punters between 10pm and midnight.

Stellar rezzies Erol and James provide the punk-fuelled electronica, pop, glam and hi-NRG grooves in the main room, flanked by Soulwax' formidable Dewaele Brothers. They'll be warming up for their appearance at Virgin megastore's Kerrang! day of rock ... with a hybrid set of vocoder-heavy, sample-laced breaks and big-assed bass, along with a side serving of punk-inspired riffs and lyrical introspection.

Soulwax' April Trash debut brought the house down, and, if their burgeoning fanbase is to be believed, we're in for a repeat performance. And you thought Belgians were boring...
